From the ground to the tip of the flame the Statue of Liberty stands 305 feet tall. Her index finger is eight feet long; her hands are almost 17-feet wide. The Statue of Liberty cradles a tablet in her left hand which symbolizes the declaration of the American independence with the inscription of "July 4, 1776" in Roman letters, is two-feet thick and 23-feet long. In the right hand she holds a torch which signifies enlightenment. he steel structural framework of this statue was constructed by French engineer Gustave Eiffel. So strong is the Statue of Liberty that it can withstand very heavy storms.

The Statue of Liberty is hundred years old but 20 store y tall and it is a real difficult hiking. It is a 354 steps on a spiral staircase to the top. It's best to go to the Statue of Liberty as early in the day as possible.
