The Plum Island Lighthouse sitting pretty amidst the green lawns is a different sort of creation as compared to the others in the same fraternity. You don't need to be a Sindbad to sail through troubled sea or get you neck strained by scaling the tall lighthouses else. This one in Newburyport measures a modest 42 feet in height and is a far accessible one with lush greenery around. Built in 1900, the lighthouse is open for public in the summer weekends and you can click it out while roaming around.
