Edinburgh Castle in the city of Edinburgh is one of the most admired castles in United Kingdom. Strategically located on a basalt plug of an extinct volcano that rises to a height of 120 m above sea level, Edinburgh castle according to archaeological surveys was build around the late Bronze age. The castle is most visited during the famously colorful annual Edinburgh Military Tattoo, a pageant of Scottish Regiment with bagpipes, tartans and horse shows. It is organized in the month of August.
