Kiev Pechersk Lavra, also called Cave Monastery, is among the most famous landmarks of capital city Kiev. Cave Monastery is an Orthodox Christian Monastery which was built around the year 1015 and is a UNESCO recognized World Heritage Site. The monastery was built by a monk named Anthony who settled in Kiev and soon had a huge disciple following. Different structures like a magnificent bell tower, cathedrals and underground caves constitute the Cave Monastery. The most important churches inside the monastery are the Church of All Saints, Church of the Saviour at Berestove and the Refectory Church.
