Wat Benchamabophit

Popularly called the Marble Temple, Wat Benchamabophit is one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand. Built of Italian Marble, the construction of the temple was started in the year 1899 by King Chulalongkorn. The main attraction of the temple is Sukhothai-style Buddha statue which is situated in the Ordination Hall called Ubosot. The statue is named as Phra Buddhajinaraja. The galleries around the hall contain nearly 52 different types of Lord Buddha statues which also invite the admiration of the tourists.
