Temple of Reclining Buddha

The local name for Temple of Reclining Buddha is Wat Pho. Situated in Bangkok, Wat Pho is one of the largest and oldest Buddhist Monasteries in Thailand. It houses a statue of reclining Lord Buddha which is one of the largest single image of Lord Buddha anywhere in the world. It is nearly 46 meters long and fifteen meters high. The statue is completely plated in gold and has mother of pearl on eyes and on soles of his feet. There are 108 auspicious Chinese and Indian symbol on the soles of his feet. It is said that it is here the famous Thai Massage took birth.
