Hui Kha Kaeng KKK is a famous world heritage site. It's a completely protected area that includes an immense area of Thailand's western forest. The forest area houses maximum larger mammals of Thailand where one can find Wild Water Buffalo, Clouded Leopards, Golden Cats, Tapirs, and Banteng. Particularly Banteng is something very common here what you can rarely see in other parts of the country. Thong Phak substation is one of the entrances to the park. After sunset, you wont be allowed to drive inside the park. You can set up camp inside the park and go for a pre-dawn walk along the road into the park. If you are lucky enough, you can spot some squirrel and long-tailed Macaque during post dawn period. The park head quarter is 10km down the road and one has to arrange a guide as well as lodging here. Tourists are not provided with any sort of special privileges. One can spend the afternoon in a hide. Just set up your place overlooking a turn in the river. There is every probability of witnessing Short-clawed Otters and Banteng. If you can arrange a special permit from the rangers, go for a night drive along the road from the HQ to the Thong Plak substation. If it is a moonlit night you will feel the real charm.
