About Erawan Waterfall

The marvelous Erawan Waterfall is situated in the Tenasserim Hills of Kanchanaburi Province. It flows inside the Erawan National Park, which is a 550-square-kilometer park in western Thailand. It will take hardly a drive of 3 hours to the west of Bangkok to reach at Erawan. The waterfall is basically comprises of seven extraordinary series of waterfalls all of which have got some unique shape and character. Each of the waterfalls descends over limestone rock faces which results in vibrant plunge pools as well as fascinatingly rounded rock configuration evocative of something that would fit in in a cave. However, there are some other anonymous waterfalls around the main fall area which are not famous as Erawan, but enhance the beauty of the vicinity. The Erawan Waterfall will be offering you all the facilities available at any other natural site. From simple bathing to swimming in the scenically alluring waterfall area is something what one must not miss. The surrounding area of Erawan is quite popular and remains busy for maximum time of the day. The typically humid climate of Thailand may compel you to take bath beneath the waterfalls. Enjoying the swim or playing in the many plunge pools under these waterfalls are appealing. Sometimes one may get less people swimming and taking bath there. For this reason, the pool around this fall houses quite a good iety of fishes. If you walk for 170m from the visitor center which is a short distance from here, you will enjoy the up beating bustle and one can find lots of people wading, swimming, and even scrambling into a small recess at the back of the second waterfall. The scenic beauty of this fall is marvelous. This fall was known as Wung Macha. Water here flows over the unusual rounded underlying limestone. It creates a wonderful background for some of the best shots. The park closes at 4.30 and it is an ecologically sensitive area in fact. Go upwards and visit each of the waterfalls separately. Pha Num Tok is one of them. The blue-green water of the plunge pool will attract you to swim across at least once. The scenic beauty of this fall is equally alluring and significant. Move upwards and enjoy the iant colourful scenario of the other waterfalls of Erawan such as Oke Nank Phee Seah, Bua Mai Long, and Dong Prouck Sa.
