Drottningholm Castle: Svealand

One of the most attractive palaces in Sweden, this is the private residence of the Swedish Royal Family. The palace was originally build in the year 1580, it got burned down completely in the year 1661. It was then reconstructed the following year and brought to the present glory. Though there was a major restoration work done here in the year 1907. Drottningholm Palace is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its beauty and the famous palace theater. It is an opera house which is still in use and hosts opera festivals that are quite popular. There are many well maintained parks and gardens around the palace with sculptures of famous people.
