True! men in Finland carry their wives on their backs and race through hurdles which include sand, water and fences. The prize for winning the competition is equally weird. The winner is rewarded with beer which is as heavy as the weight of the wife. This sports event has its origination since the 19th century, when men abducted girls from neighboring villages and later married them. This is one of the wackiest sports one has ever come through.

Toe Fighting: Putting One's Toe to Good Use

As kids we remember fighting with those pillow heads with our siblings. The fight only ended when the pillow of the other counterpart showed its tattered face. But here we are talking about another weird sports known by the name Toe Fighting. Yes! You guessed it right. This is the same game where we lock our toes with our compatriot and wrestle putting all the weight on the toes forcing the opponent to fall aback. This World Toe wrestling competition had its inception at a pub in Derbyshire, UK. This weird sport sees participants from all over the world.

Cheese Rolling: Finding Out Who's Faster (Human Or Cheese)

Amidst the long drawn list of bizarre sport events Cheese rolling sounds to be the simplest. But this sports event is more cheesy than expected. A heavy mound of cheese is rolled down a very steep inclined cliff. This event takes place in Gloucestershire on Cooper’s Hill. The competitors chase the cheese to reach the final point before it does. The task is next to impossible as the speed of the cheese is estimated to be around 112 km/hr but still the enthusiasm and the spirit of the people rocks.

AirKicking: Flying in Air Without Wings

This is a true human bombardment which catapults individuals above 26 feet swinging in the air descending in a swimming pool or a foam pit. This event is a real marvel to watch for! It involves a special fusion of air pressure and water technology merged into one making the participant undulate in air.

The participant is made to sit at the end of a specially designed propeller arm and then it blasts off. It is said approximately 60 litres of water gushes through a rocket nozzle from underneath the seat. The force of the water hurls the participant in air for few seconds then ultimately descending him in the middle of a swimming pool or a foam pit.

Tuna Throwing: Muscle Power For Who's the Best

The Tunarama festival otherwise known as the Tuna throwing festival is the talk of the season. This wacky competition takes place in Port Lincoln in South Australia. This festival attracts tourists and participants during the month of January of the year. Here the muscle power of the participants is assessed. A grand cash prize of $7,000 is given to the winner. This competition is also environment friendly as only spoilt Tuna fish are used in this competition. Hope the PETA people have lend their ear for this piece of news!
