The foreign travelers, who are looking to stay fit, enjoy, and experience the magic of Yoga, will definitely be excited to know the recent announcement by Indian government. As per the Ministry of Home Affairs, now Tourist Visa and e-Tourist Visa will also include ‘short-term yoga programmes’. The emphasis is to promote and spread Yoga across the world. Thus, the government has included ‘attending a short-term yoga programme’ in the list of permissible activities under Tourist Visa for foreign travelers. Further, government included “short duration medical treatment under Indian systems of medicine” under the permissible activities under e-Tourist Visa.
Thus, as per the new promotional activities of foreign visitors in India, visitors will be provided tourist Visa who has the sole objective to visit the country for sightseeing, recreation and casual visits for meeting relatives and friends, business visit or for short duration medical treatment. Thus, All Indian Mission abroad and Foreigners Regional Registration Officers (FRROs)/ Foreigners Registration Officers (FROs) have been requested so that proper action and attention can be paid to the recent Tourist Visa amendments. Thus, this move by the Ministry of Home Affairs will be beneficial for foreign travelers and Indian tourism industry.
