Recently the state tourism is emphasizing on developing Ranjit Sagar Dam and lake as the suitable tourist spot by promoting various water sports activities and eco-tourism. Further, emphasis is on developing various convention centres, star category eco-resorts along with water based adventure activities in and around the lake. Chief Minister of the state said that new health insurance scheme is also introduced to provide free accidental death and disability coverage of Rs. 5 lakh, Rs. 50,000 health insurance along with fire insurance of Rs. 5 lakh to visitors.
Further, to improve the better connectivity of the place, government is targeting to connect various major cities of the state through 4-6 lanes road. For infrastructure development, government facilitates an investment of Rs. 22,000 crore. He also added that Punjab is growing state that has all the facilities for its visitors. Hence, tourists should not be misguided about the state and they should be assured of all the tourists entertainment that is available in the state. Thus, Punjab tourism will definitely attract visitors from international borders along with Domestic travelers.
