For many destinations around the country -- and the world -- the off-season has arrived. This brief period of time -- usually brought on by the start of the school year and less-than-ideal weather -- can often be the best time of the year to travel. Why? You'll find more deals (both for hotels and flights) and fewer crowds. But traveling during this period often requires a little extra planning.
1. Cons of Off-Season Travel
Usually Weather becomes a major problem during off-season tour. Some destinations just become unreachable during adverse season. You cannot enjoy an equatorial country in summer. More over many attractions like national parks, museums, shops, restaurants and resorts may remain closed or shut down early during off seasons. So visiting those places in off season means losing many attractions for which the places are famous for.
2. Places to Go in Off-Season
If you are planning for an off-season Europe trip, think about winter tour. All the cultural capitals e.g. London, Paris or Rome would be chilling cold, but they have plenty of indoor funs. In Orlando, Florida of USA has theme park opened with shorter cues, lighter crowds and lower rate of lodging during its off-season from May to September. The Finger Lakes area in New York, a usual summer destination is attractive in winter due to affordable lodging and skiing and various winter festivals.
3. Places to Avoid in Off-Season
However, islands should not be ventured in off-seasons. The smaller the island more limited its resources and more weather dependent all your activities become. For example, most Greek islands have outdoor restaurants. If you land there between mid-October and mid-May, you would be chilled at dinner. Besides, ski resorts may be completely closed during winter months.
