1. Maharashtra Ex-servicemen to Boost Military Tourism in India
For the first time in India, Maharashtra Ex-servicemen Corporation (MESCO) has decided to introduce “military tourism” in country for the civilians. With these travel packages, civilians will have an opportunity to enjoy various sneak peek of the Military life. The emphasis is to provide opportunity to school children and corporate entities to feel the pleasure of living life at military sites. Col (Retd.) Suhas S. Jatkar, MD, MESCO said that there would be nine veer yatra tours that will be started from May 12.
The packages are Bano Bahadur – Camp Shaurya (Age Group 10-13); Bano Bahadur – Camp Shaurya (Age Group 14-16); Panhala Adventure Camp; Refreshing Konkan; Goa-Karwar Coastal Treasures; Gangtok-Darjeeling; Moonlit Raigad : Historic Forts; Amarnath Yatra with Helicopter Trips; Corporate Outbound Program @ Mahad. At the military sights, corporate civilians will also have an opportunity to enjoy MICE events. For providing better insight of the military life, MESCO has appointed retired serviceman and their families at these sights. Further, plans are made to introduce various activities that will provide better experience of the core military life. The packages starts from Rs. 2150 per person for 2D/1N and will be extend up to Rs. 32,000 per person for 8D/7N.
