1. New Tourist Helpline Number Receive Good Response
Considering the stress and problems of tourists in India, tourism ministry has introduced new tourist helpline number 1800-111-363, that will assist any travelers regarding the travel issue. This helpline was launched on 8th February and until 20th March it provided assistance and guidance to about 17,911 tourists on call. About an average of 578 calls are handled under this helpline service per day. This service was launched by Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of Tourism, Culture & Civil Aviation with a name “Toll Free Tourist Infoline”. This service is available 24 hours in a day and all the seven days in a week. The call support is provided in 12 different languages that includes, Hindi, English, French, Arabic, Japanese, German, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Portuguese and Spanish.
Thus, no matter from which country tourists are visiting India, this helpline service will be a great support to everyone. This step is in consideration to the Indian government drive where it emphasis on the safety of tourists in the country. Further, a new mobile app will be launched soon to help tourists and will be a boon for travelers who wish to spend time in Incredible India.
