1. Indian chapter of WAI goes International
Indian chapter of WAI (Women in Aviation, International), non-profit organization was launched at American Embassy on the eve of Civil Aviation Day. The Indian chapter was pioneered by the Chairperson, Radha Bhatia of Brid Group who was mentored by C J Collins, Federal Aviation Administration’s South Asian Senior Representative will be connecting with women and educate and empower them in Indian aviation as well as aerospace industries.
Radha Bhatia said that Indian aviation offers great opportunities for Indian women and providing them with proper guidance as well as support they can achieve greater heights. She also said that the Indian chapter will provide the women aspiring for a career in aviation with necessary inspiration and support to make their dream come true. CJ Collins said that they will be educating, training and recognizing Indian women in the aviation industry of India through their WAI India Chapter by providing them with all necessary skills as well as avenues for growth.
US Ambassador to India, Mr. Richard R. Verma and Rajiv Nayan Choubey, Secretary-Ministry of Civil Aviation jointly inaugurated the Indian chapter and all the 15 founder members were present on the occasion.
