1. IATO High level meeeting
Recently on 14th January, official from Tourism Ministry and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) met with IATO (Indian Association of Tour Operators) to discuss various important issues regarding tourism in the country. In the meeting Mahesh Sharma, Union Tourism Minister was also present and was expected to get some fruitful result from this meeting that will boost tourism and its services in the country.
As per President of IATO, Subhash Goyal, the concerned officials were informed of the ground reality of situations in the industry. He also added that various issues such as Bio-metric Process at the Airport, e-Tourist visa, fixing of monuments entry fee by ASI in consultation with Ministry of Tourism and IATO, restrictions on wildlife viewing, free baggage allowance by domestic airlines, guiding at Fatehpur Sikri, negative publicity of country, closing of rafting camps on Ganga and vacant posts at India Tourism offices overseas were discussed in depth.
After this meeting, IATO organized ‘A Message A Day’ campaign in which associate members will send message to Prime Minister regarding their problems and suggestion starting from January 11 to 15 2016.
