Andhra Pradesh is emphasizing on improve the existing tourist spots and providing some new ones for the visitors. This time it has decided to develop Manginapudi beach as tourist spot in Krishna district by investing an amount of Rs. 40 crore for its development. As per K Ravindra, Minister for Excise and BC Welfare, this new tourist spot will be provided with the entire necessary infrastructure so that it gains popularity among domestic and international visitors. The report says that minister also visited the beach and has discussed the development plan with the concerned officials.

A land of 150 acres is also allocated for developing various amenities like food courts, resorts and other facilities for easing life of visitors. For this, Ravindra has laid the foundation stone for centre lighting system, dividers, construction of new CC roads along with maintaining proper drainage system. Further, important locations are selected around the beach along with Machilipatnam where various development activities will soon be initiated. Thus, Manginapudi beach is expected to be the suitable tourist spot for visitors during weekends.

However, this will be the first in India and for implementing this project; Andhra Pradesh needs approval from central government. The intention to build this tunnel is to gain attention of tourism from entire world and provide an adventurous trip and glimpse of aquatic life while crossing the river. The beauty of this project is that it is less costly than the over bridge. Apart from this Union Ministry has also proposed such projects for West Bengal and Andaman Nicobar islands.
