1. 1. Parikrama
The Delhi based Rock n Roll band Parikrama began their musical journey in the 1990s, and since then have created some memorable pieces while experimenting with possibly every type of instruments. The band consists of Nitin Malik (Vocals), Saurabh Chaudhary (Guitars), Sonam Sherpa (Guitars), Chintan Kalra (Bass), Subir Malik (Keyboards), and Srijan Mahajan (Drums). Many of its songs such as 'One' and 'But it rained' addresses various social issues, and are famous for their enchanting lyrics.
2. Avial
The Rock band Avial originated in Kerala in 2003, and takes its name from the popular south Indian dish of the same name. This band has shot into the limelight by merging various elements of the native Kerala folk music traditions with alternative rock, which is its main forte. It consists of Tony John (Vocals), Rex Vijayan (Guitars), Binny Isaac (Bass), and Mithun Puthanveetil (Drums). The unique appeal of this band lies in use of native language during their rock performances.
3. Thermal And A Quarter
Thermal And A Quarter started its journey as a college band in Bangalore in 1996, and has since become famous for its original music. The band consists of Bruce Lee Mani (Guitars/Vocals), Rajeev Rajagopal (Drums), and Prakash KN (Bass). It has challenged established norms and enriched its music by incorporating elements from various music genres ranging from Carnatic to Jazz.
4. Tripwire
Tripwire is an extremely popular Mumbai based Punk Rock band, which has made a name for itself since its forming in 2002. Their debut album 'StandBy' released in the year 2009, and since then they have established themselves in the music world by performing in various college musical fests. This band is essentially a three men army consisting of Amey on Vocals and Guitars, Jack on Drums and Electronics, and Shaggy on Bass and Vocals.
5. Little Babooshka's Grind
Little Babooshka's Grind is a Chennai based band which appeared on the rock music scene in 1996. The band has focused on performing only originals and fusion since 1999. They have also become popular for creating exciting and bouncy music. The band consists of Arjun Janakiram (Vocal/Guitars), Avneet Janakiram (Guitars), Aum Janakiram (Vocals/Bass), Hari Boskey (Keys), and Marky Spitnik (Drums).
