Burgos Cathedral: Burgos

One look at this breathtaking cathedral and you will find all definitions of grand an understatement. The sheer size of it will leave you awe struck. The Burgos Cathedral is dedicated to Virgin Mary and was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 1984. Its construction was started in the year 1221 but it is not clear when was it completed. However, throughout its lifetime till 20th century, it has been under constant renovations. It can be seen that the front side of the cathedral is inspired by French Gothic styles that is seen in the cathedrals of Paris. The architecture inside the cathedral is equally magnificent. You will see in Burgos Cathedral works by well known artists who have contributed in making it the attraction it is today.
