Climbing Mt. Elbrus

Mt. Elbrus is one of the most noted attraction of Russia and a important destination in a traveler's itinerary. Rising to a height of 5642 m above sea level, Mt Elbrus is the highest peak in Russia and Caucasus Mountain Range. Climbing to the top of the peak is not at all tough during the warmer months and can be done by not so experienced climbers as well. However, this does not mean that there are no dangers; the dangers exist, just that they are not very treacherous and can be avoided if necessary precautions are taken. There are many routes to the top and all are mostly of the same degree of toughness. There is also a chair car facility which is a easier and faster way to get to the summit. Make sure that you have all the necessary permits required to climb Mt. Elbrus.
