Ajuda National Palace stands apart from all other heritage buildings in Lisbon as it is one of the very few buildings that are constructed in neoclassical styles. The grand palace was built in the 19th century to be the residence of reigning King of Portugal. It was started being used as a royal residence only under the rule of King Luis I. This square shaped palace is today used as a museum displaying statues of eminent personalities and art from 19th century Portuguese artists.
