Wawel Hill

Wawel Hill is one of the most important tourist attractions in the city of Cracow. Consisting of the Royal Palace and Cathedral, Wawel Hills is situated on a rocky hill situated above the Vistula River. Till the end of 16th centrury, Wawel Hill served as the Polish Royal Residence for more than 500 years. After that, the capital of Poland was transferred to Warsaw. The Cathedral too is pretty old and was build in the year 1364. Called “the sanctuary of the nation”, it was here most Polish kings were crowned and buried. Contrary to Warsaw, Cracow was left unharmed during WW II and still retains its original glory.
