Rizal Park stands as a testimonial to the brave freedom revolution and heroic sacrifices made by martyrs for the freedom of Philippines. The park is named after the famous anti-colonialist Dr. Jose Rizal who was executed here. Covering an area of nearly 54 hectares, this is one of the largest parks in Southeast Asia. This once half moon shaped park, is famous for a monument dedicated to Dr. Jose Rizal. There are many ornamental gardens, a chess plaza and a skating rink which has made it a famous picnic spot among locales.
