Machu Picchu

There are no words to describe the beauty of Machu Picchu . Absolutely none! You have to see to believe the exquisiteness that every corner of Machu Picchu possesses. Machu Piccu is a pre-columbian Inca city which is often referred to as 'The Lost City of Incas'. Reference of Machu Picchu is found from as early as 1874, but it came into the glare of the world only after it was visited by an American historian, called Hiram Bingham. Since then, it has become one of the most noted tourist attraction in the world. After being recognized as a world Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983, it was adjudged one of the New Seven Wonders of the world. It is located on the crest of mountain Machu Picchu which is in the state of Cusco. The 5 sq km that the city is built in is in classical Inca style with dry stone walls. It is believed to have been built somewhere around AD 1430 and was a sacred place for the Incas.
