Larco Museum

This is probably the most important museum in Lima, or perhaps in entire Peru. Domiciliated in a vice-royal mansion from 18th century, the museum showcases articles pertaining to over 4000 years of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. The galleries are set in a chronological order making it easy for the tourists to understand the history of Peru more clearly. There are more than 45,000 artifacts here making it the museum with the largest collection of pre-Columbian art. This includes Inca, Moche, Nazca and Chimú, arts. Opened in the year 1926, Larco museum has constantly been regarded as one of the most important tourist attraction of the country.
