Established in the year 1950, National Museum of Pakistan is the most varied exhibition of Pakistan's history and culture. Earlier the museum was housed in Frere Hall but was transferred to its present location in the year 1970. There were only 4 galleries during shifting, but they have been increased to 11. You will be amazed to know that there is a gallery called Quran Gallery which consists of more than 300 copies of Quran; out of which 52 are rare manuscripts. Other collections includes artifacts from Indus Valley Civilization, paintings relating to different ages and subjects and a collection of 58,000 coins. There is a rich collection of nearly 70,000 research books and publications as well that are related to archeology.
