Commonly referred to as the U.S or U.S.A, United States is the world's largest economy and gem of a tourist destination. Covering an area of nearly 9,826,630 sq km, it is the world's fourth largest country. Divided into 50 states, United States is marked by varied landscapes and incorporates in itself so many different worlds and culture that is hard to contain the country in just one definition. The White House - Washington
The White House is the official residence of the President of United States, often referred to as the most powerful man on earth. Originally built in the year 1792 by James Hoban, it was burned down by British but was rebuilt in the year 1818. Not all portions of the White House are open for tourists, but whatever you will see in White House will give you an idea of its brilliance and magnificence. There are guided tours organized inside the White House that will take you to East Rooms, Green, Blue and Red Rooms, the Ballroom, the entrance hall and the State Dining Hall. Disney Land - California
With over 14,800,000 people visiting this Disneyland Park in the year 2007, it became the second most visited park in the world. Opened to the public in the year 1955, it is one of the most breathtaking destinations in US for kids and adults alike. The park covers an area of nearly 85 acres and includes five different themed areas namely Main Street U.S.A, Adventureland, Frontier Land, Fantasyland and Tommorowland. The best place from where to view Mount Rushmore is the Gardenview Terrace just above the Lincoln Borglum Museum. The museum itself is a must visit for its 13 minute movie about Mount Rushmore shown in the 125 seater theater.

 

The Grand Canyon - Arizona
If Australians boast about the beauty of Outback, Americans are proudly flaunting their Grand Canyon. One of the most awe inspiring features made by nature anywhere in the world, Grand Canyon is a steep gorge cut by Colorado River. Situated within the Grand Canyon National Park, the canyon is 227 miles in length, up to 18 miles in width and nearly 6000 feet deep. The Las Vegas

Empire State Building – New York
Many might argue that Empire State Building is not the most eye caching building in New York, but none will raise finger on it being the most iconic structure in the city. Completed in the year 1931, it reaches a height of nearly 1454 feet and was the tallest building in the world at the time of its completion and held on to the status till 1971 when Twin Towers of World Trade Center were erected. Built on a granite pedestal on Bedloe's Island, now called Liberty Island. The statue is completely made of copper except for the flame of the torch which is coated in goldleaf. The total length of the statue and pedestal is around 305 meters but the statue alone is of 171 meters.
  • The Brooklyn Bridge
    Brooklyn Bridge is known for its huge size yet it is its sobering presence that has made it a landmark for New York City. Built in the year 1883, it took nearly 14 years to complete Brooklyn Bridge, an architectural gem. This gigantic suspension bridge connects the Lower Manhattan with Brooklyn heights.
