I have had the most incredible experience and pilgrimage ever. A special thanks to New India Holiday and its owner Santosh and his gorgeous wife Nandita. From the day I arrived, I was never made to miss home. I was welcomed with a home-cooked meal and the love, warmth and specialness of that day I will carry with me always. (I must mention here that I travelled alone on this pilgrimage). Santosh was my sibling and my constant guide throughout my pilgrimage - be it hiking up the mountain, getting darshan at the temples or just carrying items I wished to purchase on the way. I was not given any room to complain or be uncomfortable -even in the snowy mountains. My pilgrimage was not an easy one given my time constraints, distances of temples from each other and the mountainous terrain that we had to travel to get to the temples. But I was taken to every temple and left India feeling very very blessed and fulfilled. There are some things that one cannot express because a spirtual experience is for oneself and this is how I feel.. There are no words to describe my experience -just pure bliss is what I experienced. I found Santosh to be incredibly polite, highly respectful, very helpful, knowledgeable and of generally good mannerisms and demeanour. Ever-honouring prayer and my yatra to the extent it became his yatra as well. Very few guides/drivers will go to this extent and this I know because I have travelled previously and have also seen other drivers drop off clients and then just wait at the spot for their clients to return. I was always accompanied by Santosh and felt safe at all times. In addition, before checking me into hotels, Santosh first inspected rooms and made sure everything was good before calling me in and checking with me if I was happy to stay at that particular place and this was after himself having been through a trying and hard day of trekking, walking, driving and get me safely to the hotel. Not once did he complain or even appear upset or angry - that is a quality of a truly humble and divine being which are the only words that I can use to describe Santosh and his wife. I have brought back beautiful pictures all thanks to Santosh also acting as photographer. Previously when I travelled I was unable to come back with pictures that featured myself but this time around, I have so many beautiful pictures at all the places that I visited with myself featuring and for this as well, a special thank you to Santosh. I can only hope and pray that God blesses Santosh, his wife and their business with prosperity and success beyond their wildest imagination and for the dedication and love that they showered upon me, I am eternally grateful to them.
