Te Papa Tongarewa– Museum of New Zealand

This is the national Museum of New Zealand which is commonly called as 'Te Papa Tongrewa' which translates to “the place of treasures of this land”. The main exhibits of the museum range from history of New Zealand, natural history to culture of indigenous people. There are approximately 7000 dress pieces, few of which are as old as 16th century, 20,000 stamps, photographs of cultures and Maori Cultural treasures. The museum can be visited from Monday to Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. On Thursday, the museum is open till 9 PM.
