Named after the legendary Dutch artist Van Gogh, the museum displays his famous art works. There are nearly 200 paintings, 500 drawings and 700 letters of Van Gogh that are put on exhibition here. The building where the museum is housed is itself very attractive and strikes you at the very first sight. The oddly shaped structure was designed by Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa in the year 1999. Called the new annex, it is a covered with grey stones and titanium steel and is particularly magnificent in the evenings. Once you enter the museum, the huge light filled space seems very practical and pleasant. The vibrantly colored paintings will surely leave an everlasting effect on your mind. The most famous of his works are The Potato Eaters, Sunflowers and Wheatfield with crows.
