Fish River Canyon

Fish River Canyon is the world's second largest and Africa's largest canyon and also the second most visited attraction of Namibia. Running for over a 100 miles, Fish River canyon is 550m deep at its deepest and 27 km wide at its widest. Cut by Fish River, the longest interior river of the country, the canyon is most popular for hiking trips. The 85 km trail starts from Hobas and ends at Al Ais. Hikers have no facility at all and everything has to be carried by the hikers themselves. This 5-6 days hike is only open in winters as the temperature during winters can go up to 450C.
