National Museum of Anthropology

Opened in the year 1964, the national museum of Mexico has among its exhibits some important archaeological and anthropological items from the pre Columbian era. The museum is located in Mexico City and has become one of the most important tourist attractions. The exhibits are divided into 23 rooms which cover a total area of 79,700 m2. The main items on display are the 16th century Aztec statue of Lord Xochipilli, a replica of the sarcophagal lid from pascal's Tomb and stone heads of the Olmec civilization. There are also treasured recovered belonging to many other civilizations as well. Along with its collection, it is also famous for its unique architecture and setup.
