Mount Fuji

This is probably the most iconic symbol of Japan and its strength. Situated on Honshu Island, Mount Fuji is located to the western side of the Tokyo and is visible from the capital city on a clear day. This is one of the most symmetrical wonders by nature you will see anywhere else. Towering to a height of 3776 m, Mount Fuji is the highest peak in Japan. Most tourists come to this peak to ascend it. Tourists take up an overnight trek and reach the top in time to witness a splendid sunrise. You can start trekking early in the morning and reach your destination by evening. The sunset from the apex of Mount Fuji is as stunning and mesmerizing as the sunrise. You can also camp here at night and watch the sunrise early in the morning. It takes around 6-8 hours of brisk walking, though there have been races in which trekkers have climbed the mountain in around 2 hours.
