Present inside the Vatican City, St. Peter's Basilica has the largest interior among all the Christian Churches in the world and can accommodate up to 60,000 people at a time. According to Catholic traditions, this is the burial site of St Peter and is among the holiest churches in the world. There has been a church on this spot since 4th century but the present basilica was built only in the year 1626. Though this is not the official seat of Pope, it is the main church as most ceremonies are performed here.
