Ireland

Quickly rising on the development index, Ireland has a special and likable aura about itself that scarcely fail to allure its guests. Ireland is said to have been inhabited since 8000 BC which also makes it among the most historically important countries of this continent. Ireland has been many times counted among the most scenic countries of the world.

The Republic of Ireland is divided into 4 regions namely Leinster, Munster, Ulster and Connaught, which are further divided into 26 regions. Situated on the North Atlantic ocean, it is divided by Great Britain by Irish Sea. The Republic of Ireland, as is the official name of the country, covers an area of 81,638 sq. km and is the third largest island in Europe.

Ireland is mainly a plain country with most of the mountain regions rimming the island. The mountainous region generally consists of cliffs, and small hills. The highest point in the country is 1041 m above sea level.

If some countries inspire awe with their raw beauty, the beauty of Ireland gives you a sense of peace, relaxation and goodness. No wonder people call it the country for good times. Known for displaying 40 different shade of green, Ireland is also home to The Burren, a barren landscape that is marked with limestone layers, caves, and lakes.

Saturated with colors and history, Ireland is home to some brilliant castles like Dublin Castle and Blarney Castle and natural wonders like Cliffs of Moher and Benbulbin.

Dublin is the capital city of Ireland and the largest city as well. Situated by the side of River Liffey, Dublin is visited for its age old architecture, brilliant culture and active nightlife. The most noted attraction of the city is the Dublin Castle. Other highly tourist friendly cities of Ireland are Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford.
