More than half of the country is covered with mountains and hidden in them are some really wonderful trek routes. The northern side of Iran has the Elbruz range which has the highest peak in Iran, Demavand which stands to 5671 m above sea level. There are tour operators who arrange trekking tours to Demavand and surrounding valleys. As the routes divulge their treasures to you, the natural beauty all around you will leave you speechless. Other major range for trekking is Zagros mountains in the western side. Most of the peaks in this range are well over 4000m mark.
