Located in the capital city Tehran, National Museum of Iran is a historical and archaeological museum that collects and preserves Persian antique items. The museum was opened in the year 1937 and since then has improved its quantity and quality of its collections. The museum is divided into two different buildings each having different collections. First building contains pre-Islamic collections where as the other one has post-Islamic artifacts. The first building is further divided into three halls that contain items from different Paleolithic ages, Neolithic age, Chalcolithic and Bronze age.
