About Historic Persepolis

Persepolis was the capital of the Achaemenid empire and now a page in history. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this ancient city was destroyed and burnt to ashes by Alexander the Great. With the ruins and remains of the glory of the past, this place is where history comes to life and a traveller can only but admire this quaint destination. The name sake with a popular book and a film, Persepolis is located 70 km northeast of the modern city of Shiraz in Iran. Dating back to 550-330 BC, this historic site can load you up with knowledge and immense research materials.
