Rangunan Zoo

Situated in south Jakarta, Ragunan Zoo is a favorite not only among kids but grown ups as well. The park, covering an area of nearly 1.4 km2, has been around and a been a part of Indonesian lives since 1864. The zoo was relocated in the year 1966 to its present location. Here you can see more than 290 species and 4,000 specimens. Komodo lizard, tapir, anoa, Java tiger, banteng, wild ox are to name a few. The zoo also has a large population of colorful birds. The globally acclaimed park is also as informative and educating as it is entertaining.
