Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park

This is one big national park that will keep you entertained for quite a while. Spread around Mount Semeru, the park covers an area of nearly 502 km2. There are in all 22 species of mammals and 4 species of reptiles found in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Though Mount Bromo, which is one of two peaks in the park, has plumed, its still smoking crater is an attraction to the tourists. There is also a small Hindu temple inside the park which is looked after by Tenggerese. They are the only Hindus left on the island of Java.
