Árnesinga Folk Museum is more famous for its building than its exhibitions. The Árnesinga Folk Museum is housed in one of the oldest and mot impressive structure in entire Iceland which was build in the year 1765. Situated in Húsið village, it was originally used as a residence for Eyrabakki trading post merchants and staff but was later converted into a museum. The display mainly traces the history of Húsið and its people, and of Árnes region.
