One of the oldest churches in Berlin, St. Nicholas Church was build in the 13th century. Named after the patron saint of merchants, St. Nicholas, the church employs medieval architecture and is known for its acoustics. After the church was destroyed during World War II, it was reconstructed only in the year 1981 when it was restored to its original shape and size. Today it is used as a historical museum and also hosts a number of musical concerts round the year.
