German Wine Festivals

There is hardly any other place on earth that can give Germany close competition when it comes to wine festivals. With some 1,250 wine festivals each year, Germany leads the league among the rest. Equally popular among the locals and the travellers, these wine festivals find setting in the vineyards, ancient castles, village squares and the city street. As celebrated to mark the harvest of grapes, most of the festivals take place towards autumn. The towns along the Rhine like Rheingau region are the hubs of these celebrations.
