La Feria de abril de Sevilla is the time when the orange coloured tents are abuzz with glee and giggles putting flames to your ever cherished fantasy about Spanish aura and Spanish beauty.
La Feria de abril de Sevilla or Seville Spring Fair is a time of celebration in Spain. Just after the Semana Santa or Easter Holy Week, Seville is doused in the flavour of this six day long fiesta. The celebrations begin with the parade of carriages and riders that ferries Seville's leading citizens to La Real Maestranza, the oldest bullring of Spain.
As the days pass by, the flamenco spirit penetrates the scene with spine-tingling soulful singing, guitars playing, a riot of colourful dresses swirling, feet stomping, hands clapping, wine drinking, flower bedecked horses prancing and lot more typically Spanish activities.
What if Spanish language is double dutch to you? What if you have a paining knee every time you hit the dance floor? You can still don a Traje Corto (short jacket, tight trousers and boots) if you are a male and clad your lady with Trajes de Flamenca (a flamenco style dress) to be one with these celebrating sevillanos. The marquees or casetas set up by families, businesses and organizations are the place to be where dancing, drinking and socializing continues the week long!
