Kenya Open Golf Championship is a tournament scheduled for an afternoon at the very popular Muthaiga Golf Club near Nairobi, Kenya. It is a very challenging event to take place each year and thus it beautifully marks up part of the PGA European Challenge Tour.

Kenya Open Golf Championship is an annual treat for international top golfers. It is an event that gives an opportunity to 100 players from the European Tour, 50 from within Africa- amongst who will be 19 local professionals and 6 amateurs challenging each other for a wonderful record.

As the Kenya Open Golf Limited (KOGL) Board has joined has with Barclays Bank of Kenya (BBK), so the event is now recognized as Barclays Kenya Open Golf Championship, with a prize money value of € 190,000, and € 30,400 going to the winner.

It is a spectacular event which has its supporters even outside Kenya. The beautifully designed lush green 18-hole course on which the game is golf is played has charmed some of Europe's biggest Ryder Cup stars like Ian Woosnam, Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, José Maria Canizares, etc. to present their talent in the past. Thus bagged laurels for their country.

So, next year do plan a trip to Kenya for an ultimate golf exposure. It is really one of its kind that also includes the ‘longest drive’ competition (1st April) and the Charity Shoot’ (2nd April). Thus offer you the best sporting time of your life.
