You can hear the thunder from miles away but it doesn't prepare for the visual spectacle. Tisisat Falls, also called The Blue Nile Falls on the name of the river it is situated on, is one of the most humbling sights you could see. Situated on Blue Nile River, Tisisat Falls plunges down nearly 45m. It is best viewed during or just after the monsoon season when it is at its full flow. It reaches a width of nearly 400m during this season. Nicknamed 'Smoking waters', the Tisisat Falls is just 30 km from the town of Bahir Dar and can be easily reached.
