Cotopaxi National Park: Quito

The park is home to Cotopxi which is the highest active volcano in the world. Rising to a height of 5897 m, it is located right in the heart of the park and towers over the surrounding areas. Situated only 2 hrs drive away from the capital city Quito, Cotopaxi National park is an excellent option for one day excursions from the city. Attracting tourists since 1979, Cotopaxi park is home to animals like condors, deer and many more mammals. Cotopaxi National park is also a wonderful destination to indulge in hiking, birdwatching, camping and cycling.
