Amalienborg Palace

A compilation of four identical palaces, Amalienborg is one of the most important tourist attractions of the capital city of Copenhagen. Built in the year 1748, Amalienborg Palace was built for four noble families. But the palace was bought by the Danish Royal Family in the year 1794. Since then many kings and queens have resided in the palace and today it is the winter palace of the Danish Royal Family. The four Palaces are named Christian VII's Palace, Christian VIII's Palace, Fredrick VIII's Palace and Christian IX's Palace. The palace is home to Amaliehaven, one of the most beautiful gardens in the entire city. Opened in the year 1983, the garden sports number of splendid statues and fountains.
