The strong flow of trade winds across Costa Rica has made the place one of the most sought after destinations in the world for wind surfing, especially the northwest part of the country. You will find Lake Arenal flooded, not with water but with thousands of surfers slicing through the calm waters. The calmness of the lake also makes it a wonderful spot for learning the sport.
